Art at the Firehouse
Classes and Schedules
We have all kinds of art classes! Our primary focus however is pottery and ceramics. We offer opportunities for all age groups and skill levels. Whether you are a first time beginner or a experienced potter, we know you'll have fun growing your skills at the Firehouse!
Come check out the Firehouse during our
OPEN CLAY NIGHTS!
Every week we host at least one Open Art Night where neighbors cane come do art with us without needing to register or sign up for any classes. The Open Art Nights are free* and open to everyone!
*Note about our FREE classes and events
All of us at the Firehouse are mission driven to make accessible art program opportunities available to everyone in our community, particular to those who might not otherwise have the financial ability to participate in such programs. For many of these programs, particularly those involving specialty instructors or unique materials, the cost to organize them can be high and we offer (voluntary) opportunities for financially able participants to make small donations to help cover the costs.
We offer introductory ceramic classes for all age groups with flexible schedules and lots of open studio time.
We also offer private classes as well as workshops that we can incorporate into private events at the Firehouse as well as other locations.
Glass blowing at the Firehouse is one of the most common things we are asked about. Currently, the Firehouse does not host glass blowing to the extent it used to. However, we still have some small scaleglass blowing available for private events, most notably ornament blowing during the holiday season!
Large scale glass blowing is no longer a part of our program, but if you're still interested, fear not! Its not gone, just moved!
Our friends glass blowinginstructiors have an amazing studio called
located at 2651 W. Lake St.

Firing Clay in out Kilns
Its amazing what a couple thousand degrees can do to a lump of clay.
We feel pretty fortunate to have the all the awesome equipment we do
Also, because we have the kilns in place at the Firehouse, we're able to bring our art programming to schools and community programs that could not have them without us.
